A leading advocate for women’s education and the largest provider of scholarship assistance to young women in the United States, The Miss America Organization has been and continues to be an important and uniquely American tradition. They have grown substantially since their founding and now their mission extends beyond the annual pageant we are all familiar with.

A mission to preserve the past

However, they recently had a problem. With nearly 100 years of pageants comes over 50 overflowing filing cabinets of historical photographs and documentation. The photographs alone represent not just the change of the organization over the years, but an evolution of American culture and fashion.

Earlier this year, the Miss America Organization made plans to move office locations, but another choice was looming in the background; move the filing cabinets and risk damaging or losing a prized history or scan the documents to preserve them forever.

The solution

The Miss America Organization decided to trust ScansAmerica with the project. It was not just because of the price, but also because ScansAmerica has the people and technology to safely convert a piece of American history with quality and care. Here's what Chelsea Mineur said about the experience:

ScansAmerica handled nearly 100 years worth of historic documents and photos for us. Everything is now accessible in our DropBox and organized so that we can easily locate what we need. The team was professional and walked us through the whole process at every stage. Highly recommend!” – Chelsea Mineur, Office & Public Relations Coordinator, Miss America Organization
